Decorating your Christmas table with table toppers

If your family has been separated this year, it will be such a treat to have everyone around the table at Christmas again.

Why not make it special by decorating your table with a gorgeous range of table toppers? From traditional to modern and even silly, the possibilities are endless – so we’ve given you a few tips to start.

Often, on Christmas Day, family and friends will continue to sit around the table and chat long after lunch is finished. So why decorate your table beautifully to be enjoyed all afternoon?

Your only limit is your imagination (and table size!), but ideally you should decide on a theme before you start collecting items. Ideally, match your table theme to the other decorations on your tree and around your house.

You could go traditional with red, green and gold. These gorgeous gift boxes look great on any Christmas table, especially when combined with a traditional snow globe and this must have, cute musical Christmas tree.

You could lay out pretty red, green and silver wreath style table toppers with a beautiful embroidered table runner, some red and green Christmas candles and even a Nutcracker or two to bring you good luck during the festive season this year. If you love the idea of decorating with Christmas Angels, you’ll love our gorgeous, porcelain Angels here.

Of course, you don’t need to stick to traditional colours. You’ll find table toppers in many other palettes, including rose pink, silver and even baby blue.

And there’s no need to be serious either. Create a fun scene where Santa, reindeer and the elves play around on a snow-themed table:

These table toppers will break the ice, lighten the mood and start a conversation among even the most reticent family members! Who wouldn’t love to see Santa driving a yellow VW with LED headlights?

If you really like a bit of unpredictability, invite your guests to bring their own favourite decoration to add to the table. This will help bring everyone together after a long year.

The key is not to overwhelm the table with too many things – just a few choice items that will give the table a festive and decorative feel. You still want be able to reach the turkey easily!

And why stop at the table? Why not decorate the chairs with some tinsel and ornamental leaves too? Hopefully this has given you lots of inspiration as you start planning your Christmas Day.
